The End Of The Journey

Spring, 1806

Dear Mr. Jefferson,

The journey was the Corps at there best. The journey was america at its best.The reason i say that the corps were at there best was because they helped discover an America that no European man has ever seen before. Each individuel played a key role on the journey such as, Captain Clark made maps for anyone else that disides to come west, Sacagawea helped us discover the routes that we need to get to the ocean, and the Shoshones Indians gave us horses to cross The Rocky Mountains which would have been impassable without. 

I said America at its best because in the new land we found there were animals, indians, food, plants, and so much beautiful, unspoiled open space. And also its america at its best because this journey enbodies the american spirit of discovery. Like our four fathers who crossed the Atlantic Ocean to open new opportunites in this country, so this corps has paved the way for many generations to come.

Something that Lewis and Clark would catch all the time was Catfish they thought it was pretty tasty they would catch it on the river when they were sailing. Here is the recipe you should try it sometime.

1/3 cup yellow
cornmeal
• 1/4 teaspoon
salt
• 1/4 teaspoon
ground black
pepper
• 3 (8 oz. each)
catfish fillets
• 2 tablespoons
vegetable oil

Lewis, Clark and all of the others would always love to have some Berry Pie once and a while. Its would taste very good with the fresh berries the would find on there journey. I thought you may enjoy one resipe for Three Berry Pie.1 cup fresh strawberries, halved
1/2 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
2 cups raspberries
1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie

Something that Lewis and Clark would eat all the time would be dried berries they would eat them because they would stay good for a long period of time, and they were also very tasty! They dried them by laying them in the sun and letting that dry and crinkle!

Summer Berry Cobbler

This is something that Lewis and Clark would eat on there journey either for special occasions or just for the heck of it. I bet it was really good and cant wait to try it!6 cups fresh or frozen blueberries, raspberries, and/or blackberries
1 cup sugar
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup butter
½ cup whole wheat flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
1 egg, beaten
2 to 3 tablespoons milk or water
2 tablespoons pearl or coarse turbinado sugar
6 cups fresh or frozen blueberries, and/or blackberries

The clothing that the native americans wore were beautiful masks with feathers, during spiritual events they would wear different and unique colorful out fits, they would have suits and masks made out of buffalo or bird feathers.

Today i am learning about food during the time of lewis and clark. I am very excited because i am going to show you a Dakota Fried Tomatoes

Ingredients
6 large green tomatoes
Salt and Pepper
3 cups flour
1 cup cream or milk
1 Tblsp flour
1 Tblsp butter or margarine, melted
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Jefferosn & Journals

Lewis said the expidition should be truly documented. Jefferson said we should have a least a couple of journals for our expidition. Each of the corps' maintained a journal ( including Floyd before his death). Each of the travelers had a journal that would have all of were they would go and also directions of were they went.

Rush's Thunderbolts

Today my mess was very sick. It was very unfortunate. Luckily i knew just the rite thing to give them. It is called the Rush's Thunderbolts that i got from doctor Rush it really helps if you have stomach pains or for and thing wrong with your stomach. Hopefully when i give them this medicine they will get better as we speech. One thing that i don't like is getting sick on a trip including a trip across the country on a boat. Thank god i did not get sick that would be a very messy boat!

Hello Sir i would like to buy your dog? Well he is not for sale. I will buy him for 5 dollars. No 10 dollars, 10 dollars it is then no higher. When i got this great Newfonland dog i said i would name him Champion. Slowly he grew out of that name now it is Seaman the dog! Seaman will go on an adventure of a live time across the united states to find the Pacific ocean.

Nike,

Nike is very smart and intelagent. There are many ways to describe her,

like that she is almost up to do anything. She can draw beautiful fashion designs in her journal.

Emily D.,

Emily is a very energetic girl she can describe people in many ways.

Somethings that i think are interesting about her is that she has many talents and she is a good cook.

Erin,

Erin is a great soccer player that is her most favorite thing to do except hang out with friends and family. I think we have grown very close over that couple of months we have been together.

Sam,

Sam is very talented for excemple he can spell blood with his fingers backwards. He is a very hard worker and he is someone i can count on. And i cant wait to start working with him.

Maddy,

Maddy is a very funny girl she always makes me laugh. She always likes to hang out with friends and loves to laugh i think she is one of the funniest people i know and i cant wait to start working with her.

Katie,

Katie is one of those people who is very energetic and is very sweet at the same time.

Also she is very smart and intellagent.

Alex,

Alex has so much energy all the time. He is some that you can count on. He also adores sports which i think will be fun on this trip. Cant wait to get to know him better.

Chris

Chris is a crazy kid sometimes. He has so much energy but then he can be very calm but usaualy has lots of energy that you cant keep track of.

Connor,

Connor is a very goofy kid but is also someone that is patient and kind to others. Connor has alot of energy at times. He is good with friends and is trustworthy with his friends.

Will,

Will is a very funny kid that is one thing i really like about him. He is a very generous and kind person. He is very tall so he can reach everything that is high up! Cant wait to get to know him better on our journey.

Amanda,

Amanda is a good friend. She is a very trustworthy person. She can get a little over wellmond sometimes with different thing. Some qualities she has is that she can be very dramaish which os one thing i love about her. Cant wait to et to know her better on our journey.

Graham

Graham has so much energy at sometimes. Then he can be very calm at some points in time. Graham is very artistic and he loves to play sports! Cant wait to get to know him better on our journey.

Dear Captain John,

I am interested in different types of Food, Music, Chocolate, and a bunch of other things. And something i am good at is playing the guitar. I also love to travel and see different sites. Something i hope to collect on the trip is sea glass if we are near a beach. Also ancient artifacts from around the world. I think traveling if a good thing to do because you can learn about all different places around the world and see what kind of cultures there are.
